After being loaded into the barriers, RED BRICK FIGHTER became fractious, lunged at the front gate and then momentarily sat down. RED BRICK FIGHTER was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, RED BRICK FIGHTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. When RED BRICK FIGHTER was removed from the barriers, BLAZING PARTNERS was also removed due to its prior record of fractious behaviour in the barriers. ENORMOUS HONOUR was slow to begin. After the race, M F Poon reported that ENORMOUS HONOUR would not stretch out at any stage of the race. A veterinary inspection of ENORMOUS HONOUR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, ENORMOUS HONOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LOTUS BREEZE was crowded for room on jumping between BIG BULLY which shifted out after beginning awkwardly and FLYING NOBLE which shifted in. From the outside barriers, ASSOCIATION FANS and GALLANT SPIRIT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages, MONEY MARSHAL got its head on the side and lay in and then bumped with BLAZING PARTNERS near the 1350 Metres. Near the 1050 Metres, GALLANT SPIRIT was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of ASSOCIATION FANS which got its head on the side and lay in. Near the 750 Metres, BLAZING PARTNERS was momentarily eased away from the heels of CAPTAIN BOSS which was racing tight inside SUREWIN. Near the 450 Metres, CAPTAIN BOSS became unbalanced when momentarily crowded for room inside RED BRICK FIGHTER which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening. BLAZING PARTNERS, which was following CAPTAIN BOSS, was awkwardly placed behind that horse for a short distance. In the early part of the Straight, MONEY MARSHAL lay in under pressure. Also in the early part of the Straight, ASSOCIATION FANS lay in and proved difficult to ride. JOY MASTER had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and after initially being shifted towards the inside of BLAZING PARTNERS after the 400 Metres was then shifted out approaching the 300 Metres. JOY MASTER was then badly held up for clear running behind RED BRICK FIGHTER which, when giving ground, shifted out. This resulted in JOY MASTER being checked away from the heels of RED BRICK FIGHTER passing the 300 Metres and shifting out and brushing SUREWIN. B Shinn (FLYING NOBLE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of MONEY MARSHAL, resulting in that horse being badly hampered and taken in across the rightful running of SUREWIN, causing that horse to be severely checked, clip the heels of MONEY MARSHAL and to blunder. B Shinn was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 18 September 2019 and to expire on Thursday, 26 September 2019 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into consideration the significant interference suffered by SUREWIN and the high degree of carelessness exhibited by Jockey Shinn in this incident. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GALLANT SPIRIT at the request of Trainer K H Ting. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GALLANT SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of JOY MASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. A veterinary inspection of SUREWIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BIG BULLY, LOTUS BREEZE and CAPTAIN BOSS were sent for sampling. <9/9/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>ENORMOUS HONOUR, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. ENORMOUS HONOUR was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y S Tsui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, ENORMOUS HONOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
