LOBO’S LEGEND began awkwardly and lost ground. GREAT TREASURE shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of EVER LAUGH. From the outside barrier, LUCKY TIME got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied to be shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover. When being steadied to obtain cover in the early stages, HUANGSHAN shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of COOL TEAM which also shifted in. This resulted in HUANGSHAN becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Near the 1050 Metres, I DO was steadied away from the heels of FOLLOW ME (J Moreira) which shifted in when not properly clear. J Moreira was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Approaching the 300 Metres, COBY BOY was directed to the outside of COMFORT LIFE to obtain clear running. After the race, B Shinn was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of COBY BOY. He said after being placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight, COBY BOY finished off the race only one-paced over the concluding stages. After the 200 Metres, COOL TEAM shifted out under pressure. CRAIG’S STAR, COOL TEAM and LOBO’S LEGEND were sent for sampling.
