RULETHEROOST began awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in BEAR SLAM and GOOD BEAUTY being crowded for room inside FARSHAD. CHUNG WAH SPIRIT was slow to begin. EXALTATION began only fairly. From wide barriers, RICKFIELD, PERFECT TO PLAY and VOLPINO were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When being steadied in order to obtain cover passing the winning post on the first occasion, WARM THE VOICE got its head up and travelled keenly. Approaching and passing the 1400 Metres, FARSHAD got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied to allow VIGOR FAME to cross. Approaching the 1000 Metres, FARSHAD got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of WARM THE VOICE and consequently became unbalanced. Near the 750 Metres, CHUNG WAH SPIRIT momentarily raced in restricted room inside EXALTATION. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, PERFECT TO PLAY got its head on the side and lay in. PERFECT TO PLAY continued to lay in approaching and passing the 600 Metres and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of EXALTATION. Near the 350 Metres, WARM THE VOICE was brushed by BEAR SLAM which shifted out. Passing the 300 Metres, GOOD BEAUTY was crowded for room between VOLPINO and FARSHAD which shifted out marginally. After the race, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, GOOD BEAUTY did not appear to run out the distance of today’s race on the All Weather surface for the first time. A veterinary inspection of GOOD BEAUTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of FARSHAD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. BEAR SLAM and VOLPINO were sent for sampling.
