GOLDEN KID was slow to begin.
SAVANNAH WIND shifted out at the start and bumped DRAGON WARRIOR which in turn shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of WICKER which became unbalanced.
HAPPY HOUR and ROMANTIC JOURNEY were steadied to obtain cover shortly after the start.
Near the 1800 Metres, DRAGON WARRIOR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SKY GEM when travelling keenly. Then for some distance after the 1100 Metres, DRAGON WARRIOR continued to be awkwardly placed behind SKY GEM.
Rounding the Home Turn, WICKER raced close to the heels of SKY GEM.
Approaching the 200 Metres, GOLDEN KID shifted out and brushed DRAGON WARRIOR.
Passing the 100 Metres, SAVANNAH WIND raced tight inside SKY GEM which shifted in.
After the race, C Schofield reported that DRAGON WARRIOR travelled too keenly and was not able to finish off the race. He said he felt that DRAGON WARRIOR may not have seen out the distance of tonight’s race. A veterinary inspection of DRAGON WARRIOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY HOUR and SKY GEM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SAVANNAH WIND, YOUNG GLORY and ROMANTIC JOURNEY were sent for sampling.
