WINNER’S HEART, which was fractious in the barriers, began only fairly and then was bumped on jumping by SHANGHAI POWER which shifted out. HARMONY N HOME began only fairly, then shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of MELBOURNE HALL, causing that horse to become unbalanced and HARMONY N HOME to lose ground. HARMONY N HOME was then ridden along, however, after travelling a short distance was crowded for room between MELBOURNE HALL and VICTORY MASTERY which shifted in when awkwardly placed inside the heels of GOUTEN OF GARO. This resulted in HARMONY N HOME racing back in the field. After this incident, VICTORY MASTERY was steadied to obtain cover. From the outside barrier, ALL TIMES GRATEFUL was steadied in an endeavour to obtain cover, however, was left racing wide and without cover after the 900 Metres. When being ridden along to obtain a forward position, GOUTEN OF GARO lay in in the early stages, resulting in WINNER’S HEART momentarily racing tight inside that horse approaching the 1100 Metres. Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, BELLA BABY got its head up on a number of occasions and shifted out, resulting in BELLA BABY racing tight inside COMPASSION STAR. Passing the 800 Metres, BELLA BABY got its head up when racing keenly and awkwardly placed behind COMPASSION STAR. BELLA BABY continued to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of COMPASSION STAR to follow ALL TIMES GRATEFUL approaching the 600 Metres. Near the 250 Metres, GOLDEN GLORY raced tight inside GOUTEN OF GARO which lay in when commencing to give ground. Also near the 250 Metres, the whip of J Moreira (VICTORY MASTERY) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of K C Leung (BELLA BABY). After the 250 Metres, HARMONY N HOME was shifted to the outside of VICTORY MASTERY to obtain clear running. Approaching the 200 Metres, E MASTER shifted out and bumped BELLA BABY. Passing the 150 Metres, BELLA BABY was momentarily eased away from the heels of VICTORY MASTERY which shifted in. Near the 100 Metres, VICTORY MASTERY and E MASTER raced tight. A veterinary inspection of HARMONY N HOME, ALL TIMES GRATEFUL and GOUTEN OF GARO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN GLORY, E MASTER and VICTORY MASTERY were sent for sampling.
