FLYING MONKEY shifted out at the start and bumped THE ABRAXAS. RED BRICK FIGHTER was badly crowded for room on jumping between LIGHTNING MISSILE which shifted out after beginning awkwardly and I’M THE CONQUIST which shifted in abruptly. In this incident, I’M THE CONQUIST became badly unbalanced due to contact on the hindquarters from RED BRICK FIGHTER. As a result, I’M THE CONQUIST shifted in further, resulting in RED BRICK FIGHTER and LIGHTNING MISSILE both losing ground when crowded for room outside MONEYMORE which also became unbalanced as a result of being bumped by LIGHTNING MISSILE. TIGERLAD began very awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in SUPREME PLUS being crowded for room inside JIMSON THE DRAGON. After this, SUPREME PLUS and JIMSON THE DRAGON were shifted across behind runners from wide barriers. WONDER EXPRESS was also taken across behind runners in the early stages from the outside barrier. Making the turn approaching the 900 Metres, THE ABRAXAS lay in and bumped FLYING MONKEY, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Also making the turn near the 900 Metres, TIGERLAD was awkwardly placed outside RED BRICK FIGHTER. Approaching the 900 Metres, I’M THE CONQUIST was left racing wide and without cover and at the 900 Metres bumped with MONEYMORE. Near the 850 Metres, FLYING MONKEY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MULTIMAX. Passing the 800 Metres, RED BRICK FIGHTER commenced to travel keenly and was shifted out away from the heels of MONEYMORE, resulting in TIGERLAD being taken wider and without cover. Rounding the Home Turn, MONEYMORE was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of I’M THE CONQUIST when taken out by FLYING MONKEY which got its head on the side and made the turn awkwardly. Passing the 400 Metres, TIGERLAD was shifted out away from the heels of RED BRICK FIGHTER which was awkwardly placed outside I’M THE CONQUIST. JIMSON THE DRAGON had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 300 Metres brushed TIGERLAD when shifting to the outside of RED BRICK FIGHTER to improve. Passing the 100 Metres, FOX CHEUNGER was shifted to the outside of THE ABRAXAS to obtain clear running. A veterinary inspection of I’M THE CONQUIST immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and had bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, I’M THE CONQUIST will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SUPREME PLUS and MONEYMORE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. RED BRICK FIGHTER, MULTIMAX and THE ABRAXAS were sent for sampling.
