ENRICHMENT was crowded for room on jumping between THINKIN’ BIG and SUPER OASIS which began awkwardly and shifted out. In this incident, THINKIN’ BIG became unbalanced after being bumped by ENRICHMENT. From wide barriers, RICKFIELD and HELENA BABY were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE got its head up in the early stages when being steadied to obtain cover. Approaching and passing the 1600 Metres, BUTTERFIELD travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover. For some distance after this, BUTTERFIELD continued to travel keenly and was very awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMAZING BEATS. After the 1400 Metres, RICKFIELD was left racing wide and without cover and when the tempo slowed in the middle stages was allowed to improve its position to settle outside the lead near the 800 Metres. Passing the 1200 Metres, AMAZING BEATS commenced to travel very keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PRIVATE SECRETARY. BUTTERFIELD, which was following AMAZING BEATS, was checked away from the heels of that horse passing the 1000 Metres when continuing to prove difficult to settle. Approaching the 900 Metres, AMAZING BEATS, which continued to prove very difficult to settle, was checked out away from the heels of PRIVATE SECRETARY and bumped ENRICHMENT, resulting in that horse being hampered and taken wider. After this, both AMAZING BEATS and ENRICHMENT travelled wide and without cover. N Callan (PRIVATE SECRETARY) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE, causing that horse to be badly hampered and in turn taken out and contributing to AMAZING BEATS being crowded for room inside UNCLE STEVE. N Callan was suspended from riding in races for the racemeeting to be conducted at Happy Valley on Wednesday, 3 June 2020. As such, N Callan is eligible to resume race riding on Thursday, 4 June 2020. In addition, N Callan was fined $17,500. Passing the 50 Metres, HELENA BABY shifted out under pressure, requiring its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount. After the race, A Hamelin stated that whilst the circumstances of the race did not suit his mount in that ENRICHMENT was required to race wide and without cover from near the 900 Metres, nonetheless ENRICHMENT came under heavy pressure prior to the 600 Metres and did not finish off the race. He said, in his opinion, ENRICHMENT raced "flat”. A veterinary inspection of ENRICHMENT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE and SUPER OASIS were sent for sampling.
