On arrival at the Start, PLANET FLYER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who, after the necessary consultations, declared the horse was suitable to race. WINNING WAYS, which was difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. PLANET FLYER began only fairly and then was crowded for room between PRECIOUS SWEETIE which shifted out and EVERBRAVE which shifted in after being brushed by WILD WEST WING. MOMENTUM GALAXY shifted out at the start and hampered SEVENTH SEA. WONDER BRAHMA began awkwardly. Approaching the 950 Metres, PRECIOUS SWEETIE and EVERBRAVE bumped, causing EVERBRAVE to become unbalanced. Near the 850 Metres, PLANET FLYER (M L Yeung) became unbalanced and lost ground of its own accord. M L Yeung reported that, in his opinion, PLANET FLYER becoming unbalanced at this time was due to greenness rather than any soundness issue. He said although PLANET FLYER finished at the rear of the field, the horse was comfortable in its action and did not cause him any concern. A veterinary inspection of PLANET FLYER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, WILD WEST WING and G UNIT bumped, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Approaching the 200 Metres, A Hamelin (EVERBRAVE) dropped his whip. Passing the 200 Metres, WILD WEST WING shifted out and brushed G UNIT which then for a short distance raced tight between that horse and MOMENTUM GALAXY. Close to the finishing line, WILD WEST WING was awkwardly placed behind MOMENTUM GALAXY. Throughout the race, FORZA ANGEL travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of PRECIOUS SWEETIE and EVERBRAVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MOMENTUM GALAXY and NEXTMODEL were sent for sampling.
