Steward Report Predict Pace Map
After entering the track, M F Poon was dislodged from CZARSON without incident. KING’S HORN was fractious in the barriers and got its head down on a number of occasions and as the start was effected simultaneously put its head down which resulted in the horse being slow to begin. Before being allowed to race again, KING’S HORN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SILVER FIG and MR WEALTH lost ground after bumping shortly after the start when crowded for room between SKY SHOW and EIGHT TRIGRAMS which shifted out. GRATEFUL HEART began awkwardly. JOLLY GOOD HEART shifted out at the start and bumped THOU SHALL SING. YOUNG THUNDER was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 800 Metres, MR WEALTH raced in restricted room between SKY SHOW which shifted in and THOU SHALL SING which maintained its position away from the rail. Approaching the 700 Metres, SKY SHOW was bumped by GRATEFUL HEART which improved to be racing tight inside the heels of GOLFMAN STAR. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, MR WEALTH was awkwardly placed behind GRATEFUL HEART. Passing the 650 Metres, GOLFMAN STAR was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 600 Metres, CZARSON raced tight inside EIGHT TRIGRAMS which, after racing tight inside CALIFORNIA CONCORD, then shifted in marginally away from that horse. Passing the 200 Metres, CALIFORNIA CONCORD shifted out under pressure, requiring its rider to change his whip over into his left hand. After this, CALIFORNIA CONCORD continued to lay out under pressure. Throughout the race, CALIFORNIA CONCORD travelled wide and without cover. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of C Y Ho (THOU SHALL SING), 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out all the way to the end of the race where circumstances permit. The performance of JOLLY GOOD HEART, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, JOLLY GOOD HEART will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of JOLLY GOOD HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, J Moreira said that after coming under pressure from the 600 Metres, SKY SHOW gave ground rounding the Home Turn and then weakened noticeably in the Straight. He said SKY SHOW had had an interrupted preparation leading up to today’s race and he felt that the horse would improve for the run. A veterinary inspection of SKY SHOW immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SKY SHOW, one of the favoured runners for today’s race and which finished at the rear of the field, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SKY SHOW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of MR WEALTH immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MR WEALTH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EIGHT TRIGRAMS, CALIFORNIA CONCORD and CZARSON were sent for sampling. <28/9/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>After the race, MR WEALTH was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. MR WEALTH was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K L Man this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, MR WEALTH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
