ALL FOR ST PAUL’S lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected. EPTIWINS began only fairly and then was crowded for room between ULTIMATE GLORY and DAILY CHARM which was taken out by TAILOR MADE which in turn shifted out after being bumped by MORE THAN ENOUGH. After this, EPTIWINS was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. After travelling a short distance, LEADING FORTUNE was momentarily crowded for room between MOMENTUM HAPPY and MORE THAN ENOUGH which was taken in by TAILOR MADE. Approaching the 1100 Metres, MORE THAN ENOUGH was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of DAILY CHARM which shifted in before being directed back out to relieve the tightening to MORE THAN ENOUGH. Approaching the 850 Metres, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE got its head up when awkwardly placed behind SO AWESOME. EPTIWINS, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. Passing the 400 Metres, MORE THAN ENOUGH raced tight outside SO AWESOME which attempted to shift to the outside of ULTIMATE GLORY. When unable to shift out, SO AWESOME was then held up for clear running behind ULTIMATE GLORY after the 400 Metres. J Moreira (SO AWESOME) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of WINWIN THIRTYTHREE, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. J Moreira was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 4 November 2020 and to expire on Monday, 9 November 2020 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Jockey Moreira was fined $60,000. WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was then held up for clear running behind SO AWESOME until approaching the 250 Metres. Approaching the 50 Metres, ALL FOR ST PAUL’S shifted in, requiring its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount. When questioned regarding the performance of LEADING FORTUNE, A Badel stated that it was intended that LEADING FORTUNE would settle in a midfield position. He said after being fractious in the barriers, LEADING FORTUNE was not able to obtain a midfield position in the early stages and, despite being ridden along, got further back in the field than had been intended. He said LEADING FORTUNE did not travel well at any stage and when placed under significant pressure approaching and passing the 600 Metres did not quicken and then was very disappointing in its failure to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of LEADING FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
