ROMAN ODYSSEY was crowded for room on jumping between GOUTEN OF GARO and CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN which shifted out. AURORA STEED began very awkwardly, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced and the horse losing ground. From wide barriers, FAIRY FLOSS and WONDER BRAHMA were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Approaching the 900 Metres, ROMAN ODYSSEY, which was travelling keenly, was awkwardly placed outside the heels of CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN which was racing tight outside FLYING MONKEY. Approaching the 600 Metres, FAIRY FLOSS, which was travelling keenly, got its head up when awkwardly placed behind WONDER BRAHMA. After this, FAIRY FLOSS continued to travel keenly and passing the 450 Metres was again very awkwardly placed behind WONDER BRAHMA. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, YEE CHEONG LUCKY was awkwardly placed behind FLYING MONKEY which was reluctant to hold its position after being momentarily crowded for room between LA BOMBA and AURORA STEED which got its head on the side and shifted in away from JIMSON THE DRAGON. Approaching the 200 Metres, AURORA STEED and JIMSON THE DRAGON raced tight. Passing the 100 Metres, YEE CHEONG LUCKY was shifted to the inside of AURORA STEED to obtain clear running. K C Leung, the rider of FAIRY FLOSS, was fined the sum of $5,000 for using the whip unnecessarily on a horse out of contention over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of CORRE RAPIDO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LA BOMBA, GOUTEN OF GARO and APOLLOS BOW were sent for sampling.
