SHANGHAI POWER was slow to begin. TIGERLAD shifted out at the start and made contact with VIVA MAMA. REGENCY POET began awkwardly, shifted in and inconvenienced GOLDEN MISSION. From wide barriers, ALLOY STAR and FOR FUN’S SAKE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 900 Metres, DESTINE JEWELLERY was steadied away from the heels of TIGERLAD which was also steadied to allow VIVA MAMA to cross. At the 800 Metres, VITAL SPRING was left racing wide and without cover. At the entrance to the Straight, SHANGHAI POWER was awkwardly placed near the heels of DESTINE JEWELLERY. Passing the 300 Metres, DESTINE JEWELLERY was shifted to the inside of TIGERLAD to obtain clear running. After the race, J Moreira was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of DESTINE JEWELLERY. A veterinary inspection of DESTINE JEWELLERY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, DESTINE JEWELLERY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DESTINE JEWELLERY, FORTUNE HERO and TIGERLAD were sent for sampling. <7/1/2021 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that WAYFOONG CHARMER was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, WAYFOONG CHARMER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
