As the start was effected, MAJESTIC STAR lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently lost ground. JUNEAU PARK shifted in at the start and bumped GOOD BEAUTY. NOIR RIDER shifted in at the start and bumped the hindquarters of KAI XIN DRAGON which became unbalanced. From wide barriers, UNIVERSAL HERO and SUPER DOBBIN were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, PRIVATE ROCKET was slow to muster speed and after the 1000 Metres when racing wide was steadied to obtain cover. MAJESTIC STAR was held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight until approaching the 300 Metres. MAJESTIC STAR was then momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of HIGH RISE SOLDIER passing the 250 Metres. JUNEAU PARK was held up for clear running from on straightening until near the 300 Metres and then passing the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of IMA SINGLE MAN when disappointed for running between that horse and HIGH RISE SOLDIER which, after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOIR RIDER when held up for clear running, was shifted to the outside of NOIR RIDER to obtain clear running. SUPER DOBBIN had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 300 Metres shifted out and bumped SMART FOLKS when improving to the outside of IMA SINGLE MAN which also shifted out. Near the 150 Metres, SUPER DOBBIN raced tight inside the heels of WHEN YOU BELIEVE. Over the concluding stages, GOOD BEAUTY was awkwardly placed behind WHEN YOU BELIEVE and consequently was not able to be fully tested. Throughout the race, TRUST ME and SMART FOLKS travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of KAI XIN DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WHEN YOU BELIEVE, TRUST ME and JUNEAU PARK were sent for sampling.
