RIGHTEOUS WIN was withdrawn on 16.3.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter AMAZING AGILITY. Before being allowed to race again, RIGHTEOUS WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. At the time of declaration, A Hamelin notified a probable overweight of 2 lbs in respect of THE JOY OF GIVING’s allocated weight of 115 lbs. A Hamelin then weighed in an additional 1 lb overweight, resulting in Jockey Hamelin weighing in 3 lbs over the horse’s allocated weight. Jockey Hamelin was fined the sum of $7,500. SKY GEM was crowded for room on jumping between NUREMBERG and THE JOY OF GIVING which was bumped and taken wider by HAY RUN. FORTUNE PATROL was slow to begin and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. JOY N FUN LEGEND began only fairly. Shortly after the start, YOUNG GLORY and ENJOYABLE SUCCESS bumped. From a wide barrier, AMAZING AGILITY was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Passing the 2100 Metres, SKY GEM raced tight outside THE JOY OF GIVING when being steadied to obtain cover behind that horse. Passing the 1900 Metres, JOY N FUN LEGEND commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of ENJOYABLE SUCCESS. JOY N FUN LEGEND then continued to travel keenly and lay out making the turn near the 1800 Metres. After this, JOY N FUN LEGEND travelled wide and without cover for the remainder of the race. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, JOLLY FOREVER and YOUNG GLORY raced tight. Approaching the 800 Metres, JOLLY FOREVER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SKY GEM. Passing the 400 Metres, SKY GEM was shifted out away from the heels of CAN’T TOUCH THIS which was giving ground. Passing the 300 Metres, SKY GEM was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FORTUNE PATROL. After the 200 Metres, ENJOYABLE SUCCESS lay out under pressure. H N Wong (JOLLY FOREVER) was fined the sum of $5,000 for using the whip on that horse after the 100 Metres when it was out of contention. The Stewards took into consideration that H N Wong had been spoken to earlier this year regarding his use of the whip on a horse out of contention. A veterinary inspection of CAN’T TOUCH THIS, SOCKET ELITE, FORTUNE PATROL and JOY N FUN LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SKY GEM, NUREMBERG and HAY RUN were sent for sampling.
