REGENCY MASTER was slow to begin. AMBITIOUS HEART began very awkwardly, shifted in at the start and bumped the hindquarters of MORE THAN ENOUGH. After this, AMBITIOUS HEART was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. MORE THAN ENOUGH was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Despite being vigorously ridden for a considerable distance in the early stages, THUNDER STOMP was slow to muster speed and passing the winning post on the first occasion was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Passing the 1400 Metres, HAPPY WARRIOR and PLIKCLONE brushed. When being steadied to allow HAPPY WARRIOR to cross approaching the 1300 Metres, OSCAR GLORY shifted out and bumped GLORIOUS LOVER. After the 1200 Metres, PLIKCLONE travelled keenly when being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover. Approaching the 1000 Metres, SEAWEED FORTUNE shifted out and bumped MORE THAN ENOUGH. STAR OF RED travelled wide and without cover until near the 900 Metres at which stage THUNDER STOMP was left racing wide and without cover. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, STAR OF RED and HAPPY WARRIOR bumped. Also making the turn after the 600 Metres, PLIKCLONE got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of THUNDER STOMP. Rounding the Home Turn, THUNDER STOMP was bumped by PLIKCLONE which shifted to the outside of STAR OF RED. Passing the 300 Metres, OSCAR GLORY got its head on the side and lay in and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HAPPY WARRIOR. Also passing the 300 Metre, V CHEVALIERS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STAR OF RED when held up behind that horse. V CHEVALIERS was then shifted to the inside of STAR OF RED passing the 250 Metres, however, continued to be held up for clear running until passing the 150 Metres. Near the 275 Metres, GLORIOUS LOVER was eased when briefly disappointed for clear running between STAR OF RED and PLIKCLONE which shifted in after being brushed by THUNDER STOMP. Approaching the 50 Metres, OSCAR GLORY got its head on the side and lay in under pressure. A veterinary inspection of THUNDER STOMP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GLORIOUS LOVER, MORE THAN ENOUGH and REGENCY MASTER were sent for sampling.
