MISSION SMART was slow to begin. CITY LEGEND and AMAZING LUCK began only fairly. FULL SAILING shifted in at the start and bumped GRACYLOVE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and FULL SAILING then shifting out and bumping ZONE D. After being ridden along in the early stages from the outside barrier, HAPPY RUBY proved difficult to settle approaching and passing the 1200 Metres when being steadied to obtain cover. From a wide barrier, TAKINGUFURTHER was ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages to obtain a forward position. In the early and middle stages, GARLIC HERO travelled keenly in the lead. ALEE KING PRAWN lost its left hind plate rounding the Home Turn. At the entrance to the Straight, MISSION SMART and GREEN ENVY bumped on two occasions as MISSION SMART improved to the outside of ALEE KING PRAWN. Passing the 250 Metres, MISSION SMART was inconvenienced when racing tight inside the heels of GRACYLOVE. After continuing to race in restricted room inside GRACYLOVE (K C Leung), MISSION SMART was steadied away from the heels of that horse approaching the 150 Metres which shifted in under pressure. K C Leung was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Over the concluding stages, GREEN ENVY was shifted out away from the heels of ZONE D. Throughout the race, TOP SCORE travelled wide and without cover. After the race, M F Poon reported that TOP SCORE did not feel comfortable in its action during the race. A veterinary inspection of TOP SCORE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, TOP SCORE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE MASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MISSION SMART, CITY LEGEND and GRACYLOVE were sent for sampling.
