MIGHTY POWER lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected, shifted in at the start and bumped THUNDERSTRIKE. GLENEALY GENERALS became unbalanced when crowded for room on jumping between CHARIZARD and CASA DE FORCA which was taken out by LEGEND GOES. THIS IS CHARISMA began awkwardly and bumped the inside of its gate on jumping. After this, from the outside barrier, THIS IS CHARISMA was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. From a wide barrier, CHARIZARD was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 1200 Metres, BEST FOR YOU was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MIGHTY POWER after shifting out away from the heels of ARMOR STAR. Near the 1050 Metres, THIS IS CHARISMA was shifted in away from the heels of CHARIZARD which shifted in abruptly away from the heels of LEGEND GOES. THUNDERSTRIKE had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Approaching the 100 Metres, THIS IS CHARISMA and CHARIZARD bumped. Over the concluding stages, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MIGHTY POWER. R Maia (CASA DE FORCA) stated that he was instructed to try and lead, however, if CASA DE FORCA was not able to show sufficient speed, then he was asked to be as positive as possible. He said CASA DE FORCA began only fairly and he allowed his mount to then take up a forward position. He said he did consider near the 1200 Metres allowing CASA DE FORCA to improve its position to cross runners to its inside, however, he believed that his mount would have had to do a lot of work to clear GREEN ENVY to its inside and therefore he elected to shift across to race behind that horse approaching the 1000 Metres. He added when MIGHTY POWER maintained its position to the inside of CASA DE FORCA passing the 900 Metres, this resulted in CASA DE FORCA having to travel wide and without cover for the remainder of the race. After the race, A Badel was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of STAR OF WUYI. He said in accordance with his instructions he shifted the horse across behind runners in the early stages from a wide barrier to obtain cover as it was felt that the horse would not be able to finish off the race if ridden along in the early stages to overcome the wide barrier. He said STAR OF WUYI travelled only fairly in the middle stages and after being shifted to the outside of runners in the early part of the Straight immediately came under pressure and then did not finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of STAR OF WUYI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of LEGEND GOES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SEASONS BLISS, GREEN ENVY and MIGHTY POWER were sent for sampling.
