As the start was effected, SOLAR POWER stood flat-footed and lost a significant amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR POWER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. When being steadied to obtain cover from a wide barrier, DRAGON BABY got its head up and shortly after the start shifted in and bumped BREEZE OF SPRING which became unbalanced. From the outside barrier, DURHAM STAR was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. A short distance after the start, INTENTION was shifted in away from the heels of HEARTY WISH which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. When HEARTY WISH was corrected, GOOD BEAUTY was momentarily crowded for room between that horse and LUCKY WITH YOU which shifted in. Passing the 1100 Metres, INTENTION, which was travelling keenly, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEARTY WISH which was being steadied in an endeavour to obtain cover. Passing the 900 Metres, INTENTION was left racing wide and without cover. Then in the Straight, INTENTION gave ground and finished tailed out. After the race, H W Lai reported that INTENTION was making an abnormal breathing noise in the race. A veterinary inspection of INTENTION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of INTENTION was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, INTENTION will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, GENERAL TRUMP commenced to race very keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORY SCHOLARS which itself was awkwardly placed inside the heels of LUCKY WITH YOU. After this, GENERAL TRUMP continued to travel keenly. Passing the 400 Metres, GENERAL TRUMP was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORY SCHOLARS after being disappointed for running between that horse and HEARTY WISH. Near the 250 Metres, BREEZE OF SPRING was awkwardly placed behind HEARTY WISH when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running. A veterinary inspection of DURHAM STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORY SCHOLARS, INFINITE POWER and LUCKY WITH YOU were sent for sampling.
