MEGA BONUS was withdrawn on 10.7.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GLUCK RACER (C Schofield). Before being allowed to race again, MEGA BONUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. THE JOLLY began only fairly and was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. G ONE EXCELLENT and GLUCK RACER bumped at the start, resulting in GLUCK RACER becoming unbalanced and shifting in which caused G ONE EXCELLENT to lose ground when crowded for room outside PLIKCLONE. INESTIMABLE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped TOWARDS SUCCESS. WHO LOVES THE ACE lost its left front plate shortly after the start. From wide barriers, WONDERFUL FANTASY and ZACIAN were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Near the 1100 Metres, PLIKCLONE was eased away from the heels of GLUCK RACER which shifted in. Approaching the 1000 Metres, PLIKCLONE shifted out away from the heels of MY ECSTATIC, resulting in G ONE EXCELLENT being bumped and taken out and in turn bumping HEROIC CHAMPION which became unbalanced when crowded for room inside WONDERFUL FANTASY which itself became unbalanced after being bumped by HEROIC CHAMPION. Approaching the 900 Metres, G ONE EXCELLENT shifted in and bumped PLIKCLONE. Making the turn near the 850 Metres, THE JOLLY got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of MY ECSTATIC which was racing close to the heels of GLUCK RACER. MY ECSTATIC then continued to race close to the heels of GLUCK RACER for some distance. The Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason for M F Poon being dislodged from PLIKCLONE approaching the 400 Metres due to Jockey Poon being transported to hospital. At this time, it is not intended for any other riders to be interviewed when the inquiry is conducted. A veterinary inspection of PLIKCLONE immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained skin contusions to the front of the muzzle as well as a laceration to the inside of the right front pastern. A veterinary inspection of INESTIMABLE, which travelled wide and without cover throughout and finished tailed out, immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, INESTIMABLE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, B Shinn stated that after being bumped by PLIKCLONE in the early stages, G ONE EXCELLENT travelled only fairly in the middle stages and then lay out under pressure in the Straight. He added G ONE EXCELLENT, which was having only its second race start today, is an immature horse which will benefit from further racing. A veterinary inspection of G ONE EXCELLENT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
