TAKINGUFURTHER began awkwardly. CHATER PINS began awkwardly and bumped the inside of its barrier stall on jumping, resulting in the horse losing ground. DAILY BEAUTY was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. From wide barriers, WOOD ON FIRE and DESTIN were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Approaching the 1100 Metres, MAN UP, which was racing greenly, got its head on the side and shifted in and was checked away from the heels of MELBOURNE HALL. Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, FANTASTIC FABIO failed to muster speed and throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, TAKINGUFURTHER was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of BEAUTY AMIGO. DAILY BEAUTY brushed the running rail making the turn near the 550 Metres and then was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MAN UP which shifted in marginally. After the race, K C Leung stated that after travelling in a satisfactory position behind the speed, BEAUTY AMIGO came off the bridle near the 500 Metres and, despite being ridden along rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight, did not finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY AMIGO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Also after the race, J Moreira advised that he was not able to offer any valid reasons for the disappointing performance of ROMANTIC TROVE. A veterinary inspection of ROMANTIC TROVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. It was noted that MANAGEMENT SUPREME was found to be coughing in the sampling stalls after the race. An endoscopic examination of MANAGEMENT SUPREME did not reveal any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY PROFIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MANAGEMENT SUPREME, WOOD ON FIRE and MELBOURNE HALL were sent for sampling.
