As the start was effected, PRETTY QUEEN PRAWN, which was having its first race start and fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground, resulting in the horse losing ground. Before being allowed to race again, PRETTY QUEEN PRAWN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. MY INTELLIGENT began awkwardly and then shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of CARRY THE DIAMOND which shifted out after being bumped and hampered by SPICY SO GOOD. In this incident, SPICY SO GOOD became unbalanced as a result of bumping CARRY THE DIAMOND. Shortly after the start, CHICKEN DANCE and HONEY BEE brushed. HONEY BEE lay out in the early stages and then over the concluding stages gave ground and finished tailed out. As this was the third occasion within five race starts that HONEY BEE had finished tailed out, the Stewards ruled that that horse must undertake a series of consecutive satisfactory barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination prior to being permitted to race again. Passing the 600 Metres, SHOWINA raced tight outside FANTASY SPRING. Over the final 400 Metres, AMAZING ROCKY lay out under pressure. A veterinary inspection of FIGHTING STAR immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FIGHTING STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SPICY SO GOOD immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SPICY SO GOOD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SPARKLING KNIGHT and AMAZING ROCKY were sent for sampling.
