A LA KING began only fairly and then was inconvenienced by LOOKING COOL which was taken in by GIFT OF LIFELINE. DR WINNING became unbalanced when crowded for room on jumping between FAST PACE and DECRYPT which shifted in. Then from the outside barriers, DR WINNING and DECRYPT were steadied to obtain cover. Approaching the 1300 Metres, A LA KING became unbalanced after shifting out of its own accord towards the heels of MEANINGFUL STAR. Passing the 1150 Metres, DR WINNING was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GIFT OF LIFELINE which shifted out. Passing the 300 Metres, LOOKING COOL got its head on the side and was reluctant to shift to the outside of TRANSCENDENT. Passing the 100 Metres, LOOKING COOL improved into tight running between TRANSCENDENT and A LA KING. After the race, K Teetan stated that, in his opinion, DR WINNING was not able to finish the race off strongly tonight after having to race towards the rear of the field in a slowly run race. A veterinary inspection of DR WINNING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of A LA KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MEANINGFUL STAR and GIFT OF LIFELINE were sent for sampling.
