When in the Parade Ring prior to riders mounting up, FIVE G PATCH reared and momentarily got away from its handler. FIVE G PATCH was quickly recaptured and found to be suitable to race.
ODE TO JOY lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin.
COPARTNER ELITES began only fairly.
HAPPY ANGEL shifted in at the start and inconvenienced SACRED IBIS. After this, both HAPPY ANGEL and SACRED IBIS were shifted across behind runners.
VICTORY PARK, FIVE G PATCH and ENTRUSTED were all steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Passing the 1400 Metres, VICTORY PARK got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of COPARTNER ELITES.
HAPPY ANGEL travelled keenly approaching and passing the 1300 Metres.
After the 1200 Metres, PRECISE EXPRESS was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 500 Metres, COPARTNER ELITES improved into tight running between LUCKY GOLD and HAPPY ANGEL.
Near the 350 Metres, LEADING FORTUNE raced close to the heels of BEAUTY LIVE when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running. When shifting out, LEADING FORTUNE bumped PERFECT TO GREAT which in turn shifted out and bumped PRECISE EXPRESS. LUCKY GOLD, which was following PRECISE EXPRESS, was shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running and in doing so brushed COPARTNER ELITES.
SACRED IBIS was held up for clear running from passing the 300 Metres until after the 250 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of PERFECT TO GREAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LEADING FORTUNE and BEAUTY LIVE were sent for sampling.
