ANGELS HUNTER was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. From wide barriers, RED BRICK FIGHTER and STAR CONTACT were also steadied shortly after the start and shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail. Passing the 1100 Metres, OSCAR GLORY commenced to travel keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions when very awkwardly placed behind MY INTELLIGENT. At the entrance to the Straight, RED BRICK FIGHTER was shifted out away from the heels of STAR CONTACT which shifted out away from WAR EAGLE after initially being awkwardly placed outside that horse. VOYAGE STAR had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 400 Metres and near the 150 Metres was shifted in away from the heels of MY INTELLIGENT which shifted in under pressure. Approaching the 300 Metres, ANGELS HUNTER shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CASA LEGEND. For the majority of the race, ERIMO travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of WAR EAGLE immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, WAR EAGLE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. OSCAR GLORY, MY INTELLIGENT and ERIMO were sent for sampling.
