Steward Report Predict Pace Map
SEA ELITE was withdrawn on 26.4.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DASSIT (J Moreira). Before being allowed to race again, SEA ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. RED BRICK GLORY began only fairly and then was bumped on jumping by CASA KINGDOM which shifted out. MASTER ALBERT shifted out at the start and bumped MUDITA. ALLOY KING was crowded for room on jumping between DASSIT and ZACIAN which began awkwardly and shifted in. After this, DASSIT was steadied to obtain cover. ZACIAN was then ridden along, however, making the turn near the 1150 Metres was steadied to obtain cover when racing very wide. MOON PEAKS and VECTOR bumped shortly after the start. Passing the 1100 Metres, FORTUNE HERO shifted out and brushed MOON PEAKS which in turn shifted out and hampered VECTOR which was being steadied to obtain cover. DASSIT made the turn at the 600 Metres awkwardly and bumped the hindquarters of VECTOR which became unbalanced. Passing the 400 Metres, VECTOR was awkwardly placed behind RED BRICK GLORY. Rounding the Home Turn, SUNNY AND GOLD raced tight outside RED BRICK GLORY which shifted out. Passing the 200 Metres, FORTUNE HERO lay out under pressure. ALLOY KING travelled very wide and without cover throughout. When questioned, M Chadwick (SUNNY AND GOLD) stated that the pace of the race in the early and middle stages was quick and therefore when ALLOY KING was ridden forward of SUNNY AND GOLD after the 800 Metres when racing very wide, he elected to take a trailing position behind that horse as he would have had to make use of SUNNY AND GOLD to maintain its position to the inside of that horse. He said after being crossed by ALLOY KING, that horse commenced to give ground near the 550 Metres which resulted in SUNNY AND GOLD being very awkwardly placed behind ALLOY KING. He said passing the 500 Metres he intended to shift to the outside of ALLOY KING rather than be taken back in the field, however, as he was doing this, ALLOY KING commenced to lay out and he believed that if he continued to improve to the outside of that horse, this would result in SUNNY AND GOLD being hampered when taken unnecessarily wider. He added that as ALLOY KING continued to lay out, he elected to shift to the inside of that horse near the 450 Metres to commence improving his position. A veterinary inspection of SUNNY AND GOLD immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. A veterinary inspection of ALLOY KING and MUDITA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of ZACIAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. As ZACIAN was treated following the race at the request of Trainer C S Shum, the horse will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. CASA KINGDOM and DAY DAY RICH were sent for sampling.
