ON EXCEL STAR, which bumped a rail on entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer at the barriers and passed suitable to race. FOREVER GLORIOUS began awkwardly and then lost ground when crowded for room between ETERNAL BLOOM and CHEVALIER PRINCE, both of which shifted ground. A short distance after this, CHEVALIER PRINCE was bumped by ON EXCEL STAR which shifted in. FIERY FLYING began awkwardly. PALACE PAL shifted out on jumping, resulting in LEISURE AND GOLD and TURQUOISE ALPHA being hampered. After this, from the outside barriers, PALACE PAL and TURQUOISE ALPHA were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. LET’S DO IT travelled keenly in the early stages and passing the 1200 Metres got its head up when being crossed by BEAUTY NOVA. After this, LET’S DO IT continued to prove difficult to settle. After the 1100 Metres, CHEVALIER PRINCE was left racing wide and without cover. FIERY FLYING travelled keenly approaching and passing the 1000 Metres. Making the turn after the 900 Metres, ETERNAL BLOOM was momentarily crowded for room between KING TOURBILLON and DECISIVE ACTION which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEAUTY SPIRIT. Rounding the Home Turn, LET’S DO IT shifted out and bumped KING TOURBILLON. Passing the 400 Metres, ETERNAL BLOOM was shifted in away from the heels of KING TOURBILLON. DECISIVE ACTION, which was racing inside ETERNAL BLOOM, momentarily raced tight inside that horse in consequence. Over the final 100 Metres, DECISIVE ACTION was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ETERNAL BLOOM when attempting to improve between that horse and BEAUTY NOVA. Close to the finishing line, ETERNAL BLOOM raced tight inside KING TOURBILLON which got its head on the side and shifted in away from HANG’S DECISION which itself was racing tight inside TURQUOISE ALPHA. After the race, L Currie reported that, in his opinion, ETERNAL BLOOM may not have handled the step-up in distance to 1600 Metres today at this stage of its career. CHEVALIER PRINCE and LET’S DO IT were sent for sampling.
