A short distance after the start, PRIME MORTAR raced tight between UNIVERSAL HORIZON and SWEET DIAMOND which shifted out.
From wide barriers, GLENEALY GENERALS, HO HO JUNIOR and EASY SNIP were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When being shifted across, HO HO JUNIOR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of GLENEALY GENERALS near the 1150 Metres.
Near the 750 Metres, SWEET DIAMOND was awkwardly placed behind SMART FOLKS.

Passing the 400 Metres, PRIME MORTAR shifted out and brushed UNIVERSAL HORIZON. After this, PRIME MORTAR got its head on the side and lay in.

A veterinary inspection of DRAGON KINGDOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
