FLYING DRAGON began only fairly and then on jumping was steadied away from the heels of HIGH RISE SOLDIER which shifted in. VALIANT ELEGANCE and SUPER VINCE began only fairly. From an outside barrier, LUCKY QUALITY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 900 Metres, SUPER VINCE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of WILD WEST WING. Near the 750 Metres, WILD WEST WING was steadied away from the heels of TRADER which shifted out. After this, WILD WEST WING travelled wide and without cover. Passing the 700 Metres, ELON was momentarily awkwardly placed behind WILD WEST WING. After the 700 Metres, FLYING DRAGON got its head on the side and lay in and brushed the running rail near the 650 Metres. Near the 550 Metres, WILD WEST WING was shifted out away from the heels of SUPER VINCE which got its head on the side and made the turn awkwardly. After this, SUPER VINCE (Z Purton) continued to lay out making the turns. After the race, Z Purton reported that SUPER VINCE raced greenly and lay out in the middle stages after getting on its wrong lead leg. He was of the opinion that SUPER VINCE would benefit from tonight’s race having in mind that the horse has not previously trialed at Happy Valley. A veterinary inspection of SUPER VINCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of ELON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VALIANT ELEGANCE and TRADER were sent for sampling.
