M M NEBULA shifted out at the start, resulting in BIRDSVILLE being bumped and taken out onto EXUBERANT which on jumping shifted out and bumped JUMBO LEGEND. EXUBERANT then became unbalanced after being bumped by BIRDSVILLE.
From wide barriers, SHINING FORTUNE, OVERSUBSCRIBED and BLUSTITCH were steadied on jumping to obtain cover.
After travelling a short distance, TAKE WHAT YOU NEED shifted out and inconvenienced SUNSHINE LEGENDARY.
Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, SHINING FORTUNE commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when racing close to the heels of JUMBO LEGEND.
WOOD ON FIRE travelled wide and without cover until after the 800 Metres at which time SUNSHINE LEGENDARY was left racing wide and without cover.
H N Wong (EASY LIFE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after EASY LIFE shifted out rounding the Home Turn and on entering the Straight to be in a position one horse off the rail, he permitted EASY LIFE to shift in under pressure after the 300 Metres, resulting in M M NEBULA, which had obtained running to the inside of EASY LIFE, to lose its rightful running and be checked approaching the 200 Metres. In the circumstances, H N Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 2 November 2022 and to expire on Monday, 7 November 2022 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
SHINING FORTUNE had difficulty obtaining clear running from approaching the 200 Metres until after the 150 Metres at which time the horse was shifted to the inside of WOOD ON FIRE to continue improving. When SHINING FORTUNE was shifted to the inside of WOOD ON FIRE, EASY LIFE, which was racing to the inside of SHINING FORTUNE, was bumped.
Over the concluding stages, OVERSUBSCRIBED raced close to the heels of TAKE WHAT YOU NEED.
Approaching the winning post, OUR CLASS ACT was crowded for room inside EXUBERANT which shifted in. Because of this, both OUR CLASS ACT and EXUBERANT were not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
A veterinary inspection of WOOD ON FIRE and M M NEBULA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JUMBO LEGEND and BIRDSVILLE were sent for sampling.
