KARUIZAWA had its tongue tie refitted behind the barriers.
SHADOW RUNNER shifted in at the start and inconvenienced HIGH CLOUD. HIGH CLOUD was then tightened for room between KUNG FU TEA which was racing tight outside SHINING FORTUNE and SHADOW RUNNER a short distance later.
Also shortly after the start, JUMBO LEGEND and VAMOS bumped.
From the outside barrier, KARUIZAWA was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 1000 Metres, SHINING FORTUNE was checked away from the heels of SHADOW RUNNER which was being steadied to obtain cover behind LORIZ. BLUSTITCH, which was following SHINING FORTUNE, was shifted out from behind that horse, resulting in KUNG FU TEA being taken wider.
FIGHTING STAR travelled wide and without cover until passing the 600 Metres at which time KUNG FU TEA was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 500 Metres, SHINING FORTUNE was checked away from the heels of SHADOW RUNNER. SHINING FORTUNE was then held up for clear running passing the 400 Metres.
Approaching the 400 Metres, BLUSTITCH and KUNG FU TEA bumped.
At the 300 Metres, GANG OF BROTHERS was bumped by SHADOW RUNNER which attempted to shift out. SHADOW RUNNER was then held up for clear running from passing the 300 Metres until after the 150 Metres.
Approaching the 200 Metres, JUMBO LEGEND was bumped by HIGH CLOUD which, after being awkwardly placed outside the heels of SHINING FORTUNE which shifted out, then became unbalanced and shifted out of its own accord.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY GATHERING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JUMBO LEGEND and SHINING FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
