COPARTNER ERA and AI ONE bumped at the start. SPICY GRILL began only fairly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CORDYCEPS ONE which on jumping lifted its front feet off the ground and then was brushed by UNITED ENDEAVORS which shifted in. LIFELINE VISION shifted out on jumping and bumped EXUBERANT which in turn shifted out and bumped RIGHT AS RAIN. After this, RIGHT AS RAIN was steadied and shifted across behind runners. Also from wide barriers, RIGHT HONOURABLE and TAILOR MADE were steadied on jumping to obtain cover. When being steadied shortly after the start, TAILOR MADE was bumped by SURE JOYFUL which shifted out. Near the 1550 Metres, RIGHT HONOURABLE got its head on the side, shifted in and inconvenienced RIGHT AS RAIN. For some distance approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion, EXUBERANT proved difficult to settle and got its head up when very awkwardly placed close to the heels of UNITED ENDEAVORS. LIFELINE VISION, which was following EXUBERANT, raced close to the heels of that horse in consequence passing the winning post on the first occasion. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, RIGHT AS RAIN was crowded for room between RIGHT HONOURABLE and SPICY GRILL which got its head on the side and shifted out. In this incident, both RIGHT AS RAIN and RIGHT HONOURABLE became unbalanced. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, SURE JOYFUL was left racing wide and without cover and was allowed to improve its position to race in the lead near the 1100 Metres. For some distance after the 1100 Metres, CORDYCEPS ONE raced close to the heels of SURE JOYFUL. Near the 1050 Metres, AI ONE got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LIFELINE VISION. Approaching and passing the 900 Metres, RIGHT HONOURABLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RIGHT AS RAIN which resulted in RIGHT HONOURABLE shifting ground on a number of occasions. Near the 850 Metres, AI ONE was ridden along to prevent being taken wider by COPARTNER ERA which shifted out. AI ONE was then checked away from the heels of LIFELINE VISION passing the 800 Metres which itself was awkwardly placed behind EXUBERANT. RIGHT AS RAIN, which was following AI ONE, was hampered when shifted out away from the heels of that horse in consequence. Near the 550 Metres, LIFELINE VISION and RAINBOW LIGHT raced tight as RAINBOW LIGHT shifted out to improve. This resulted in LIFELINE VISION racing close to the heels of EXUBERANT near the 500 Metres. Approaching the 400 Metres, AI ONE and SPICY GRILL raced tight as SPICY GRILL attempted to shift to the outside of COPARTNER ERA. When unable to improve outside COPARTNER ERA, SPICY GRILL was held up for running behind that horse passing the 400 Metres. In the early part of the Straight, EXUBERANT raced tight outside RAINBOW LIGHT which shifted to the outside of CORDYCEPS ONE to obtain clear running. RAINBOW LIGHT and EXUBERANT than bumped after the 250 Metres. Near the 150 Metres, SURE JOYFUL, which was commencing to give ground, momentarily raced in restricted room inside SPICY GRILL. Over about the final 150 Metres, EXUBERANT got its head on the side and lay in under pressure and after the 50 Metres inconvenienced AI ONE. Approaching the 100 Metres, COPARTNER ERA raced tight inside CORDYCEPS ONE which got its head on the side and lay in away from RAINBOW LIGHT. Approaching the 50 Metres, UNITED ENDEAVORS raced tight between COPARTNER ERA and SPICY GRILL which shifted out marginally. RAINBOW LIGHT and SPICY GRILL were sent for sampling.
