From wide barriers, KASA PAPA, YEABOI and CHARMANDER were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 1000 Metres, KASA PAPA, which was getting its head up when being restrained, was checked to avoid the heels of MASTER TORNADO (K Teetan) which was shifting in and at the same time was awkwardly placed on the heels of LET’S DO IT which was also attempting to obtain cover behind ERIMO. Whilst there were some contributing factors to this incident, nonetheless K Teetan was reprimanded and told to ensure that he is sufficiently clear before shifting ground in similar circumstances. Also passing the 1000 Metres, GOLDEN ARTIE, which was over-racing, was restrained off the heels of MAJESTIC COLOUR which steadied the pace after shifting in near the 900 Metres. This resulted in IVY LEAGUE, which was following, also having to be steadied. Near the 400 Metres, LET’S DO IT, which was inclined to lay in, was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of ERIMO in an endeavour to obtain clear running. LET’S DO IT continued to lay in in the Straight. Near the 300 Metres, KASA PAPA was steadied and shifted out across the heels of MASTER TORNADO to obtain clear running. MASTER TORNADO lay in under pressure after passing the 300 Metres. A veterinary inspection of SETANTA and CHARMANDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MARADO and WINNER METHOD were sent for sampling.
