ABOVE was slow to begin.
SUPERBELLA jumped awkwardly, shifted in and hampered SERANGOON which jumped only fairly. SUPERBELLA and SERANGOON were then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1700 Metres, SERANGOON commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid the heels of NICHOLSON RETURNS.
SUPERBELLA raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, M Chadwick (ENJOYING) advised that he expected to lead the event, however, despite being ridden along in the early stages ENJOYING did not show sufficient pace to do so.
Also after the race, K Teetan (ESCAPE ROUTE) reported that his mount did not appreciate being pressured in the lead by LEADING FORTUNE, however, failed to handle the rain-affected track conditions. A veterinary inspection of ESCAPE ROUTE immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ESCAPE ROUTE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Following the race, Apprentice Y L Chung (SERANGOON) reported that his mount was not comfortable on the rain-affected track conditions. A veterinary inspection of SERANGOON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, L Hewitson (S J TOURBILLON) reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the event, however, when placed under pressure in the Straight failed to quicken on today’s rain-affected going.
A veterinary inspection of ABOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
NICHOLSON RETURNS, PACKING HURRICANE and LEADING FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
