MISSION was withdrawn on 14.9.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore right fore capped elbow). Before being allowed to race again, MISSION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. INVESTAR began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, KING CREOLE lost ground when bumped by PALETTE THE BEST. Throughout the race, REWARDING STAR travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. G Mossé (HOLI RAVIOLI) said for the major part of the race his mount hung out and proved difficult to ride. He said when hanging HOLI RAVIOLI over-raced in the early stages and as a consequence was not able to finish the race off. He said in his opinion this explained the horse's poor performance today. HOLI RAVIOLI was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. REWARDING STAR was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HOLI RAVIOLI after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, REWARDING STAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. CHEEKY LAD and SALUT BEAUTE were sent for sampling.
