COME HO CHOI was slow to begin. CONQUEROR began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, MOONGLOW got its head up and lost ground and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. In the early stages, ROCKET POWER, which had been slow to muster speed, was hard ridden to go forward. After the 1200 Metres, PALIO KING proved difficult to settle. After the 900 Metres, BAAZIGAR was steadied away from the heels of SAMMY’S FORTUNE. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, COME HO CHOI hung out and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CONQUEROR. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SOMETHING SPECIAL became unbalanced when racing tight inside TERRAFERMA. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, SPARE A DIME commenced to hang out, shifted ground and was steadied away from the heels of ABLE STANDARD. Making the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, SPARE A DIME hung out. Over the final 100 Metres, COME HO CHOI hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, TERRAFERMA proved difficult to settle. TERRAFERMA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, TERRAFERMA was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. SPARE A DIME, SHATIN WIN WIN and ROCKET POWER were sent for sampling.
