VALUE CHOICE and AWESOME DRAGON were slow to muster speed. From a wide barrier, THAT’S WIN was taken across behind runners. From the 1000 Metres until near the 600 Metres, CARELESS WHISPER proved difficult to settle. From a wide barrier, PLEASURE PLEASURE made the first turn awkwardly and travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, MILLION CHASE became unbalanced after shifting in and bumping the hindquarters of SPY KING. On straightening, VALUE CHOICE became unbalanced after being bumped by AWESOME DRAGON which came off the Home Turn awkwardly and shifted out. When questioned, Mr D J Hall, trainer of NAMJONG SKY, said he had been disappointed with the horse’s performances since joining his stable when the horse had been racing in a rearward position. He said with the rail in the C+3 position tonight, he decided to reapply blinkers to NAMJONG SKY and have the horse ridden to go forward. He said due to NAMJONG SKY having its 4th race start this season tonight, he knew the horse was hard fit and believed the horse had a good chance in the race. Mr Hall did say in the immediate future runs of NAMJONG SKY, it will be his intention to have the horse ridden in a forward position although it may not lead. He said he believed it was necessary for NAMJONG SKY to lead tonight from an awkward barrier to avoid being caught wide. CARELESS WHISPER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CARELESS WHISPER after the race did not show any significant findings. SPY KING and AWESOME DRAGON were sent for sampling.
