Steward Report Predict Pace Map
The Stewards tonight interviewed Mr A Lee, trainer of TABBRIS, which had been entered for this race as to the circumstances regarding the horse being entered after having been treated with Vetalog on 16 October 2007. The Stewards also interviewed Mr C C Chan, assistant trainer to Mr Lee, in regards to the above circumstances. Vetalog is a prohibited substance as defined by the Rules. Mr Lee was fined $10,000 for having breached Rule 74(4) in that he entered TABBRIS for this race when it was ineligible to be so entered as a result of having received the above treatment. Mr Chan was advised a report on this matter will be forwarded to Stables Management. After being boxed, KINGSTON MARBLE became fractious, broke through riderless and completed a circuit of the course before being recaptured. Acting on veterinary advice that KINGSTON MARBLE was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, KINGSTON MARBLE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. HAPPY KID began awkwardly and then lost further ground when becoming unbalanced while being steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE GALLOP. MEGA BULLET was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, FORTUNE GALLOP shifted in, bumped the running rail and became unbalanced. Near the 900 Metres, FORTUNE GALLOP was steadied away from the heels of CHIMERA (C K Tong) which shifted in when not properly clear. C K Tong was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. On straightening, CHIMERA was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of FORTUNE GALLOP. At the 100 Metres, ASIAN CITRUS, which was commencing to give ground, was momentarily steadied when crowded for room between CENTURY SUPER STAR and STAR OF FAME, both of which shifted ground. For the major part of the race, MOSHI MOSHI travelled wide and without cover. C K Tong explained he had been instructed to attempt to begin well and then allow his mount to travel where it was comfortable. He said in the early stages he raced outside STAR OF FAME, however, making the turn at the 1000 Metres he was not able to maintain that position. He said near the 900 Metres when STAR OF FAME went forward of him, he shifted to a position on the fence behind that horse. He said near the 700 Metres CARE FREE MIDAS which had been racing to his outside went forward and crossed to the rail. He said after this he followed CARE FREE MIDAS, in the Straight he endeavoured to shift out to obtain clear running, however, CHIMERA proved difficult to shift wider. He said because of this he was not able to ride CHIMERA out fully in the early part of the Straight. C K Tong was told after shifting to the rail at the 900 Metres he should have made a greater effort to maintain his position behind STAR OF FAME. S K Sit (HAPPY KID) explained in the early stages he became concerned with the horse’s action as it did not feel to be striding out normally. He said he continued to urge HAPPY KID forward until the 900 Metres, however, when the horse’s action did not improve, he at that stage stopped riding his mount along and after this HAPPY KID became detached from the field. HAPPY KID was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, HAPPY KID was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said there were no significant findings. The performance of HAPPY KID was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, HAPPY KID will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BUDDIES SPIRIT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BUDDIES SPIRIT after the race did not show any significant findings. STAR OF FAME and CENTURY SUPER STAR were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported ASIAN CITRUS had lost its left front plate. Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 25 October 2007) HAPPY KID, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. HAPPY KID was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C S Shum this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have sustained an injury to its right front tendon. As previously advised, HAPPY KID will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
