On jumping, FUJI SUNRISE was crowded for room between SIKANDER and YOUNG HERO, both of which shifted ground. DISGUISE was a little slow to begin. After the 1600 Metres, FUJI SUNRISE was steadied when crowded for room between SIKANDER and YOUNG HERO which shifted in slightly. No action was taken. Near the 1500 Metres, SIKANDER and LOTZATOW were checked when crowded for room between ELECTRONICS SPUR which shifted out after being turned on its hindquarters and YOUNG HERO which got its head up and shifted in when being steadied to allow DISGUISE to cross. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Passing the 1300 Metres, LOTZATOW was hampered and carried wider by ALL CHANCES which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. SIKANDER, which was following, was hampered in consequence. After the incident passing the 1300 Metres, LOTZATOW travelled wide and without cover and after the 1000 Metres was ridden to go forward and cross ALL CHANCES. Consideration was given to a protest/objection lodged by D Beadman (YOUNG HERO), 2nd placegetter, against DISGUISE ridden by K Shea being declared the winner alleging interference near the 1000 Metres. The evidence disclosed that near the 1000 Metres DISGUISE shifted out away from the fence which resulted in YOUNG HERO being inconvenienced. As the Stewards were of the opinion YOUNG HERO would not have finished in front of DISGUISE had this inconvenience not occurred, the protest/objection was overruled. D Beadman was advised in the opinion of the Stewards the protest/objection lodged by him bordered on being deemed frivolous. In the early part of the Straight, SIKANDER was steadied and shifted to the outside of LOTZATOW to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, ALL CHANCES hung out badly and proved difficult to ride. Before being permitted to race again, ALL CHANCES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LOTZATOW was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SIKANDER and ALL CHANCES were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LOTZATOW, SIKANDER and ALL CHANCES after the race did not show any significant findings. DISGUISE and YOUNG HERO were sent for sampling.
