HOLI RAVIOLI was withdrawn on 5.11.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LUCKY TYCOON (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, HOLI RAVIOLI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Prior to leaving the holding stalls, it was noted DIAMOND SUPREME had shifted its right hind plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. LUCKY TYCOON, DIAMOND SUPREME and DAYLIGHT EXPRESS were slow to begin. Approaching the turn at the 600 Metres, DEERFIELD was steadied when crowded for room outside KINGSTON MARBLE which when racing close to the heels of NAPA made the turn awkwardly and shifted out. No action was taken. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, MOUNT SURPLUS hung out badly and carried GAUCHO wider on the track. In the opinion of the Stewards, the performance of MOUNT SURPLUS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MOUNT SURPLUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, DAYLIGHT EXPRESS was crowded for room inside SOLDIER ON which had its head on the side and shifted in when racing tight inside SUNNY GOLF. At the 500 Metres, DAYLIGHT EXPRESS was again crowded for room inside SOLDIER ON which shifted in when being steadied away from the heels of DEERFIELD which at this time was carried in by MARVELLOUS. After the 400 Metes, GENERAL KINGY was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of KINGSTON MARBLE. At the 250 Metres, DIAMOND SUPREME, which was commencing to close the race off strongly, was checked to avoid the heels of GENERAL KINGY which at this time was steadied and shifted to the outside of NAPA which commenced to give ground. For a considerable distance after this, DIAMOND SUPREME continued to be unable to obtain clear running. At the 200 Metres, D Beadman (SUNNY GOLF) dropped his left rein. Just prior to the winning post, GENERAL KINGY was checked when crowded for room inside DIAMOND SUPREME which when closing the race off strongly was crowded for room and carried in by SOLDIER ON (B Prebble) which got its head on the side and shifted in. As the Stewards accepted B Prebble made a satisfactory effort to straighten his mount, no action was taken. MOUNT SURPLUS and DAYLIGHT EXPRESS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MOUNT SURPLUS and DAYLIGHT EXPRESS after the race did not show any significant findings. MARVELLOUS, KINGSTON MARBLE and SOLDIER ON were sent for sampling.
