REGENCY DRAGON began awkwardly and knuckled. EXPRESS WIN began awkwardly. From a wide gate, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS was taken across behind runners, then in the early and middle stages proved difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, REGENCY DRAGON was steadied away from the heels of WHATABOB which shifted in when barely clear. At the 800 Metres, WEI HAI INVINCIBLE was left racing without cover. Making the Home Turn, WHATABOB hung out. Passing the 400 Metres, REGENCY DRAGON was brushed and carried wider by SLOW WALTZ which at this time shifted to the outside of WHATABOB into clear running. Approaching the 300 Metres, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS was momentarily steadied when endeavouring to obtain clear running. Passing the 300 Metres, FLUKE had difficulty obtaining clear running when following REGENCY DRAGON. GRAND CRU, which was following FLUKE, was in turn held up behind that horse and was shifted to the inside of FLUKE to obtain clear running. After this, FLUKE hung in and over the concluding stages was awkwardly placed close to the heels of REGENCY DRAGON. Because of this, FLUKE was not fully tested. SUPER TRAVELLER and ALPHA MAIL were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER TRAVELLER and ALPHA MAIL after the race did not show any significant findings. SLOW WALTZ and TCHAIKOVSKY were sent for sampling.
