On jumping, MY LUCK got its head up, shifted in and bumped FAMAGUSTA which in turn shifted ground and bumped TERRIFIC BRETHREN. After this, MY LUCK was taken across behind runners. Also on jumping, SURE HERO was crowded for room between GLENEALY STAR which shifted out and ASIAN CITRUS which got its head up and shifted in. SERIOUS PLAY was slow to begin. After the 1100 Metres, ASIAN CITRUS was steadied and shifted in across the heels of SURE HERO to obtain a position closer to the fence. FAMAGUSTA, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of ASIAN CITRUS. In this incident, ASIAN CITRUS was awkwardly placed on the heels of SURE HERO which became unbalanced. After the 800 Metres, PERFECT TREASURE, which had been endeavouring to shift out from behind NAPA, was checked when disappointed for running between NAPA and GLENEALY STAR. No action was taken. Throughout the race, TERRIFIC BRETHREN travelled wide and without cover. Also throughout the race, NAPA hung in badly, commenced to give ground at the 600 Metres and finished tailed out. NAPA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, NAPA was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was severely lame in the left front leg. Before being permitted to race again, NAPA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHINA HERO, FAMAGUSTA and GLENEALY STAR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SURE HERO had lost its left hind plate.
