SPEED OF LIGHT was withdrawn on 4.12.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore right fore suspensory) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PILLOW KING (A Starke). Before being allowed to race again, SPEED OF LIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PILLOW KING bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. From a wide barrier, HURRICANE WAY was taken across behind runners. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, AWESOME DRAGON was bumped by MR FLOODLIGHT which became unbalanced and shifted in after being bumped by MULLAAD which shifted in. For some distance after the 600 Metres, MR FLOODLIGHT was carried back through the field when following FIGS which was giving ground. For the majority of the race, CHARMING MONKEYS hung out badly, making the turn at the 600 Metres shifted wide on the track and then gave ground. The performance of CHARMING MONKEYS was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, CHARMING MONKEYS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of official barrier trials around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Near the 500 Metres, HURRICANE WAY was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of PILLOW KING which itself was shifted out when being checked to avoid the heels of MR FLOODLIGHT. Prior to straightening, MR FLOODLIGHT was bumped by MULLAAD which was carried in slightly by AWESOME DRAGON. Throughout the race, MULLAAD travelled wide and without cover. AWESOME DRAGON was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race AWESOME DRAGON was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, AWESOME DRAGON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FIGS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, FIGS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat. Before being permitted to race again, FIGS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TOUCH DOWN and CAPABILITY were sent for sampling.
