THE GOODIES and FANTUZZI were slow to begin. PROPELLOR was taken across behind runners in the early stages. At the 150 Metres, JUBILOSO, which had been shifting out towards clear running, was momentarily steadied and shifted in. O Peslier (CLASSA SUPREME) said he had been instructed to ride the horse in a similar manner to when he was successful on it last season. He said CLASSA SUPREME resents being taken hold of and if this is done, it will hang out. He said because of this he allowed CLASSA SUPREME to run freely and whilst he was aware he had opened up a substantial lead, he felt it was in the best interest of the horse not to restrain it. Mr D J Hall, trainer of JUBILOSO, which was racing first up from a spell tonight, explained from the outside barrier he had instructed A Starke to take the horse back to find a position on the rail. He said it was felt the race would be run at a good tempo and because the horse was first up, it would be best suited ridden in a manner to ensure it was able to obtain a position with cover. He said from more favourable barrier draws JUBILOSO will be ridden more prominently, however, depending on the anticipated tempo of races when JUBILOSO is drawn wide, it may be ridden in a rearward position. SUPER WONGCHOY and CLASSA SUPREME were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER WONGCHOY and CLASSA SUPREME after the race did not show any significant findings. DR POSSI and PERSEVERANCE were sent for sampling.
