HAPPY TOUCH was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right fore tendon). Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY TOUCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MY HOME TOWN was slow to begin, then lost further ground when being steadied away from the heels of FAMAGUSTA which shifted in after being bumped by PEARL HALO which in turn was bumped by RAINBOW OASIS which began awkwardly. In the early stages, RAINBOW OASIS was taken across behind runners. ZEPHYRUS was slow to muster speed, then making the first turn lost ground when awkwardly placed between MY HOME TOWN and FAMAGUSTA. After the 700 Metres, GANBARIA was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of FUN. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, FAMAGUSTA got its head on the side, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of MY HOME TOWN. At the 150 Metres, FUN was brushed by GANBARIA which shifted in. MY PRIDE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MY PRIDE after the race did not show any significant findings. FAMAGUSTA, MY HOME TOWN and FUN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FUN had sustained a wound to its left hind heel.
