SOU MA TAM was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left front fetlock). Before being allowed to race again, SOU MA TAM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PERFECT MATCH was slow to begin. HORSE POWER began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, TREMENDOUS PLUS shifted out, bumped with LUCKY RED and as a consequence lost ground. Also on jumping, CHINA LUJIA and SUPER MUSIC bumped. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, RAINBOW OASIS was slow to muster speed. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, LUCKY RED, which was racing ungenerously, got its head up, hung out badly and as a consequence caused inconvenience to RAINBOW OASIS which was steadied and shifted out. Then after the 700 Metres, RAINBOW OASIS was left racing without cover. Near the 700 Metres, SUPER MUSIC bumped the running rail and became unbalanced. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, CHINA LUJIA hung out. Making the Home Turn, TERRIFIC BRETHREN hung out. Approaching the 300 Metres, MOONGLOW was shifted wider to obtain clear running. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, CHINA LUJIA was held up and unable to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, SUPER MUSIC was checked when crowded for room between SILLY BOY and CHINA LUJIA which when shifted to the inside of TOWKAY FLYER (G Mossé) became unbalanced as TOWKAY FLYER itself shifted in. In the circumstances, G Mossé was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. After this, CHINA LUJIA had difficulty obtaining clear running in the run to the line. Over the final 200 Metres, RAINBOW OASIS hung in and proved difficult to ride. RAINBOW OASIS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, RAINBOW OASIS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, RAINBOW OASIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHINA LUJIA, TERRIFIC BRETHREN and TOWKAY FLYER were sent for sampling.
