FOREST FOUNTAIN was slow to begin. BULB TREASURE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SOUND OF SILENCE. On jumping, MY FAITH and MYTHIC STEED were crowded for room between CELESTIAL WONDER and ROMANTIC GREEN. CRUSH ON YOU began awkwardly. In the early and middle stages, FOREST FOUNTAIN proved difficult to settle. Passing the 1400 Metres, CELESTIAL WONDER got its head up and shifted wider on the track. After the 1400 Metres, JAMESINA was checked when crowded for room between CHINSOLA which shifted in slightly and DECENT FELLOW which shifted out after being bumped by MYTHIC STEED. AMAZING FORTUNE, which was following, was hampered in consequence. No action was taken. After this, DECENT FELLOW proved difficult to settle. Near the 1200 Metres, JAMESINA was checked severely when crowded for room between DECENT FELLOW and AMAZING FORTUNE which at this time had been ridden along to improve its position inside CHINSOLA which got its head on the side and shifted in. As the Stewards were of the opinion there were circumstances surrounding this incident which resulted in no one rider responsible, no action was taken. At the 900 Metres, MY FAITH was crowded for room between MYTHIC STEED and FOREST FOUNTAIN which got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of BULB TREASURE. No action was taken. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, BULB TREASURE proved difficult to settle. Also approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, MYTHIC STEED was left racing without cover and near the 600 Metres got its head on the side, shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to MY FAITH which as a result became unbalanced. Near the 800 Metres, DECENT FELLOW was steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of CRUSH ON YOU and AMAZING FORTUNE which shifted out slightly. Approaching the 700 Metres, FOREST FOUNTAIN became unbalanced when racing tight between BULB TREASURE and MY FAITH. Making the Home Turn and for a considerable distance after straightening, FOREST FOUNTAIN was held up and unable to improve. Over the concluding stages, CRUSH ON YOU and JAMESINA hung in. For the majority of the Home Straight, BULB TREASURE had difficulty obtaining clear running. Throughout the race, CHINSOLA travelled wide and without cover. MYTHIC STEED was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MYTHIC STEED after the race did not show any significant findings. FOREST FOUNTAIN, DECENT FELLOW, SPECIAL DRAGON and JAMESINA were sent for sampling.
