INDUSTRIAL MARVEL began awkwardly and took time to muster speed. INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS began awkwardly, then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. Making the turn near the 1400 Metres, WADADELIGHT was checked to avoid the heels of LIGHTNING SPEED which itself was checked when crowded for room between PRIME TARGET and KING HESPERUS, both of which shifted ground. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, BOLD WIN was crowded for room inside INDUSTRIAL MARVEL which got its head on the side and shifted in. Near the 200 Metres, LIGHTNING SPEED was checked when crowded for room between MAGIC TOUCH which improved on its inside and WADADELIGHT (O Doleuze) which shifted in momentarily. O Doleuze was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. After this incident, WADADELIGHT continued to hang in for the remainder of the race. INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of INDUSTRIAL EXPRESS after the race did not show any significant findings. SEA TREASURE, MAGIC TOUCH and PRIME TARGET were sent for sampling.
