INSPIRATION was withdrawn on 8.2.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind). Before being allowed to race again, INSPIRATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WHATAFANTASY was slow to begin. CHEERFUL MASTER began awkwardly and was then steadied away from the heels of MAVERICK STAR which shifted out. DOWN THE WICKET got its head up on jumping, shifted out and made contact with KING ENCOSTA. Near the 700 Metres, ELEGANT WIN was left racing wide and without cover. At the 700 Metres, KING ENCOSTA, which had been travelling wide and without cover outside DOWN THE WICKET which had been over-racing, was allowed to stride forward. Also at the 700 Metres, SANZIRO became unbalanced when being steadied while awkwardly placed between the heels of ELEGANT WIN and MAVERICK STAR which got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of DOWN THE WICKET. In the early part of the Straight, WHATAFANTASY hung out and shifted wider on the track. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, CHEERFUL MASTER had difficulty obtaining clear running. ELEGANT WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ELEGANT WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. TIGER PRAWN, ULTRA FANTASY and COUNTRY MUSIC were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FIFTY FIFTY had bled from both nostrils.
