When leaving the Parade Ring, DIAMOND SUPREME's right hip made heavy contact with the rail. After arriving at the Start, DIAMOND SUPREME was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, DIAMOND SUPREME was bumped by SHY BALDY and lost ground. SHY BALDY then shifted out and bumped MASTER GREEN which became unbalanced and lost ground. PLEZAYRE was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, PLEZAYRE was checked severely when crowded for room between DIAMOND SUPREME which after coming together with PLEZAYRE became awkwardly placed close to the heels of GUAN DAO and shifted out slightly and MY SAY which shifted in slightly after being brushed by FLAG FINDER. COSMO SUCCESSOR, which was following, was checked in consequence. Although the incident was one of some significance, the Stewards did not believe it was appropriate in the circumstances that any action be taken. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, GUAN DAO and HAR HAR CHARMS bumped. For the major part of the race, COSMO SUCCESSOR hung in. Throughout the race, TEAM WORK and SILENT DRAGON travelled wide and without cover. TEAM WORK and COSMO SUCCESSOR were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TEAM WORK and COSMO SUCCESSOR after the race did not show any significant findings. DIAMOND SUPREME and WHISKY POWER were sent for sampling.
