MY FAITH was withdrawn on 26.2.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ASIAN CITRUS. Before being allowed to race again, MY FAITH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Prior to leaving the saddling stalls, ELEPHANT STAR had its left front plate reset. ELEPHANT STAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. VITALITY began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, ACTUARIAL TALENT shifted in and bumped ASIAN CITRUS. From a wide barrier, shortly after the start, CLEMENT ELITE was steadied and taken across behind runners. TELECOM EMPEROR made the turn at the 1000 Metres awkwardly, shifted out and bumped VITALITY, causing that horse to become unbalanced and be carried wider. As a result of this, CLEMENT ELITE was also carried wider and got its head up. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, ACTUARIAL TALENT hung out, then in the Straight continued to hang out, gave ground and finished tailed out. ACTUARIAL TALENT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ACTUARIAL TALENT after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ACTUARIAL TALENT was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, ACTUARIAL TALENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Prior to straightening, NEW TRIUMPH became unbalanced when racing tight inside TOPBRIDGE which improved inside ACTUARIAL TALENT. CLEMENT ELITE and TAKE IT EASY were sent for sampling.
